The ‘Canelobre Caves’ located in the picturesque town of Busot, 24km from Alicante are well worth a visit if you fancy doing something different on your holiday.

The caves are situated at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level, on the northern slope of the Cabeco D’or mountain range.

The caves have been compared to a Gothic cathedral inside with many strange and unique shapes on display created by the rocks which are believed to be dated way back to 740AD. The cave also provides amazing acoustics resulting in a great venue for concerts which are held there on occasion.

While in Busot, nature lovers can also walk up to a viewpoint at the top of the Cabeço D'Or which stands at 1,205 metres above sea level, where the view is sure to be fantastic on a clear day.

And for those less active, you can relax with a glass of wine and some local fare at one of the restaurants in the town.
